PENNSVILLE – State Senator Stephen M. Sweeney and State Assemblymen John J. Burzichelli and Douglas H. Fisher announced today they have received the endorsement of the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA).
“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for us each and every day,” said Senator Sweeney. “We proudly support their call of duty and thank them for their support in our re-election campaign.”
The New Jersey State FOP represents over 17,000 active and retired law enforcement officers throughout the state. The organization recognized the incumbent legislators’ strong commitment to issues affecting their membership like collective bargaining for health benefits and quality care for the brave first responders who served at Ground Zero and continue to experience medical issues.
“Time and time again, law enforcement quietly goes about its job putting our safety before its own personal well-being,” said Assemblyman Burzichelli. “For their dedication and devotion, we stand beside them with our support in the legislature.”
The New Jersey State PBA represents over 33,000 law enforcement officers in the state. Senator Sweeney and Assemblymen Burzichelli and Fisher were endorsed for their pro-active efforts to ensure law enforcement officers have the tools and benefits they need.
“Law enforcement faces many challenges in performing their jobs,” added Assemblyman Fisher. “We will continue to support them and their efforts to protect and serve New Jersey families.”
