Increasing The State Gasoline Tax Is Bad For South Jersey

Washington Township - Eugene Lawrence and Domenick DiCicco, Republican candidates for Assembly in the Fourth Legislative District, have called on Paul Moriarty to tell the people of the district which is more important to him, funding a commuter rail tunnel to New York or helping to make South Jersey more affordable.

At issue is an article on NJ.com today in which Jon Corzine says he will consider raising the gasoline tax. According to the article the tax increase will help keep the fund that keeps transportation projects, like the $8.7 billion dollar commuter rail tunnel to New York City, afloat.

"It's time for Paul Moriarty to stop running his stealth like campaign and tell the voters what he will do," Assembly candidate Eugene Lawrence said.

Lawrence asked, "Will Paul Moriarty side with Jon Corzine and raise the state's gasoline tax to help pay for folks in northern New Jersey to have an easier time getting to New York City?"

"I don't see a point in waiting for Moriarty to answer because his pattern of voting 94% of the time with Jon Corzine gives us a good indication of what he will do," Lawrence added. "If things get any worse the hundreds of people who have already lost their homes in the region may be forced to live in their cars and Jon Corzine and Paul Moriarty will make even that difficult by raising the gasoline tax."

"In this economy raising any tax makes no sense," Assembly candidate Domenick DiCicco stated. "Here in South Jersey it makes even less sense to raise a tax designed to help people on the opposite end of the state. Considering he was an investigative reporter, perhaps it's time for Paul Moriarty to use some of those investigative skills to look at issues and do what's right for the people he represents rather than marching in lock step with Jon Corzine."

Say no to Christie and Corzine. Vote Daggett

Don't by that GOP non-sense that Daggett is a plant funded by Corzine.

Fact is Daggett has no funds at all.

Futhermore, Chris Daggett nailed Christie and Corzine for corruption in 3rd Debate

You really have to hand it to Chris Daggett. Not only did he stand toe to toe with Jon Corzine and Chris Christie he really nailed it to them in the 3rd NJ  Gubernatorial Debate. Once again, for the third time in a row, I give this as a notch for Daggett.

Chris Daggett handed it to both Christie and Corzine for corruption saying to fight corruption you need to lead by example.

Daggett then cited specific corrupt activities that Christie and Corzine had engaged in, including illegal campaign finance and pay to play, and neither Corzine or Christie could defend themselves.

Instead, Corzine acknowledges that activity is going on and agrees with Daggett that it needs to stop.
