Washington Township - With jobs fleeing the Fourth Legislative District Paul Moriarty has come up with a new jobs program: He's paying people to deliver his campaign literature door-to-door.
The Moriarty campaign sent an email "looking for people to canvass for us during the remainder of the campaign." The email, apparently sent to Democrats throughout the district, promises pay for services starting at $10 per hour with training provided.
"It looks like Paul Moriarty has listened to us and started a new job training program," Republican candidate for Assembly Eugene Lawrence said. "I guess he didn't understand we were talking about good paying, full-time, permanent jobs."
Republican Assembly candidate Domenick DiCicco asked, "Paying people to go door-to-door?"
"I don't see how that helps bring new jobs into the district," DiCicco commented. "Sending an email begging for help just shows how out of touch with the residents of the fourth district Paul Moriarty really is."
"What Moriarty needs to be doing is applying pressure on his good friend Jon Corzine to bring the Legislature back for a special session on job creation like we asked over two weeks ago," DiCicco said.
