Assemblyman Richard Merkt (R-Morris), who announced his candidacy for Governor earlier today, will stump for Gloucester County Republican Freeholder candidates Phyllis Scapellato, Larry Wallace and Dan Roberts tomorrow night at the Woodbury Country Club.
"Like many other Republicans around the state I have been watching the Gloucester County Freeholder race with interest," said Assemblyman Merkt. "I truly believe Phyllis, Larry and Dan have an excellent opportunity to break the decade old stranglehold the Democrats have on the Freeholder Board and look forward to working with Phyllis, Larry and Dan to help them win on November 4th." Republican Freeholder candidate Phyllis Scapellato said, "Gaining the support of someone who has been on the front lines of the battle against the Sweeney-Corzine Trenton Tax Team demonstrates the importance of us winning this race. We are thankful for Assemblyman Merkt's support." "Republicans from around the state have called us and told us they support us," said GOP Freeholder candidate Larry Wallace. "Assemblyman Merkt is doing more than just talking. He is standing with us in our fight against the Sweeney-Corzine Trenton Tax Team. He understands actions truly do speak louder than words and we look forward to working with him to help take our county back." "Assemblyman Merkt has been fighting for the hardworking families of this state and to have his help in our fight for Gloucester County's families is great," said Republican Freeholder candidate Dan Roberts. "His voting record in the Assembly clearly demonstrates he has been a voice for fiscal restraint and accountability and we are happy to have him join us in our fight to rescue Gloucester County's families from the Sweeney-Corzine Trenton Tax Team." # # # Visit www.responsiblefreeholders.com for more information about Phyllis Scapellato, Larry Wallace and Dan Roberts and their campaign for Gloucester County Freeholder.
