Responding to widely circulated reports that a West Deptford Republican was paid a visit by the New Jersey State Police after placing a phone call to Governor Corzine, Gloucester County Republican Executive Committee Chair Loran Oglesby said, "The governor should not be concerned that Mike Krawitz, a candidate for Township Committee in West Deptford, managed to get him on the phone." "It's the hardworking taxpayers of New Jersey who should be concerned," Oglesby continued. "Obviously, the governor is more concerned with talking to a political power broker who has had his shady political dealings tape recorded than he is in talking with his constituents. One can only imagine how he would have answered if he thought it was Carla Katz on the phone." "Dispatching the state police to interrogate Mr. Krawitz is no different than the politics of the former Soviet Union and Mr. Corzine should be ashamed of himself," Oglesby stated. "I bet Stalin would have been proud of Corzine. What's next is he going to have the Gloucester County GOP headquarters bugged?" Oglesby concluded, "Having the state police track you down and then question you cannot be a pleasant experience. Frankly, Governor Corzine owes Mr. Krawitz an immediate and public apology." # # # Paid for by GCREC
