Yesterday at 2:04 PM Dan Roberts of Williamstown filed at the Gloucester County Board of Elections to join Phyllis Scapellato and Larry Wallace on the Republican Party's Freeholder Ticket.
Gloucester County Republican Executive Committee Chair Loran Oglesby said, "After interviewing several candidates for the position the Committee on Vacancies and the candidates decided Dan Roberts was the best fit for the campaign that Phyllis and Larry have been running."
"Phyllis Scapellato has the elective experience having served on the Franklin Township Board of Education, Larry Wallace brings his experience as a small business owner and Dan Roberts brings the experience of raising a young family in a County that has seen spending increase nearly $78 million in five years," Oglesby stated."
Oglesby continued, "Frankly I was happy to hear that Democratic Party Chairman Michael Angelini said they're going to run their campaign based on the records their candidates have because those records are records of failure. They've increased spending 66% over five years, they have two dual office holders, they have a guy who had his office raided by the feds, and one of them, as the head of the Sweeney-Corzine team, has done everything he can to keep government from becoming transparent, even motioning and voting to table the Transparency in Government Act. It's no wonder they tried to ram the Elections Board changes through in secret."
"Conversely our candidates want government to be open and accountable to all, they will hold the line on taxes and spending and they will preserve our suburban way of life. I'm thrilled to put Phyllis Scapellato, Larry Wallace and Dan Roberts up against the Sweeney-Corzine team," Oglesby said.
