Woodbury, NJ (July 28, 2008) - Gloucester County Republican Executive Committee Chair Loran Oglesby called on Freeholder Warren S. Wallace to re-write his five-page Defense Manifesto today.
"On July 18th I called on Warren Wallace to publicly release his five-page Defense Manifesto. Now that the Gloucester County Times has publicly released the Defense Manifesto I would hope the freeholder remembers at the time I said, ‘If that five page Defense Manifesto does not address the issue of document shredding I suggest he re-write it,'" Gloucester County GOP Chair Loran Oglesby said. "We have reviewed Freeholder Wallace's five-page Defense Manifesto and, as expected, he did not address the issue of paper shredding. Either that or page six fell in the shredder."
Oglesby continued, "While I realize a recent news report said paper shredding was not discussed in the federal monitor's report, that news account is wrong. Our review of the public version of the federal monitor's report, now posted on the internet along with Warren Wallace's Defense Manifesto at www.defensemanifesto.com, clearly states on page four, ‘We also received a hotline tip on May 17, 2006 that an employee of SOM who worked for Wallace was shredding documents that might be relevant to our investigation. The monitor immediately dispatched [h]is investigative team to control the situation; and he contacted Dr. Vladeck to make him aware of the issue. The employee was immediately stopped from shredding documents; all materials were secured; and all shredding machines were confiscated.'"
"I read it, our candidates read it, the entire campaign team read it, shredding is clearly in the federal monitor's report," Oglesby stated. "Freeholder Wallace issued his Defense Manifesto and my candidates are still being asked if the guy they're running against is the same guy who shredded papers."
"Once again, I am calling on Warren Wallace to do the honorable thing and address everything in the federal monitor's report," Oglesby said. "As an elected official it is his duty to answer the questions on the minds of the voters."
