ROBERTS STATEMENT ON NOMINATION
OF DAVID ROUSSEAU TO BE NEW STATE TREASURER
(TRENTON) - Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts, Jr. today applauded Governor Jon Corzine's nomination of David Rousseau to be the new State Treasurer.
Rousseau, a veteran legislative and administration aide, currently serves as Deputy State Treasurer. The Fiscal Year 2009 Budget will be the 22nd on which he has worked during his career in state government.
Roberts (D-Camden) released the following statement:
"David Rousseau is one of Trenton's most experienced and most trusted hands in matters relating to state government and finances.
"Governors and legislators have come and gone, but for more than two decades David has been a fixture in the State House and a key player in the budget process.
"David's institutional knowledge, in-depth understanding of the state's financial position, and ability to work in partnership with the Legislature will be invaluable assets at a time when the state is at a fiscal crossroads.
"Governor Corzine should be congratulated for recognizing David's wealth of experience in nominating him to be our next State Treasurer."
