This guy is horrible
I get the Katz thing, while I and most of the state are over it, Tornoe seems to lack depth, creativity, or originality. This is the second "Katz" related cartoon in a short while, and neither of them were particularly interesting, insightful, or funny. This one in particular introduces such an unlikely relationship between Corzine and Cheney that it makes the cartoon confusing. While I get the jist of this being "Cheney won't release papers and neither will Corzine-he's a Rep and he's a Dem-in the end they are all shady crooks" except the situtations are so fastly different and with Corzine this would not have even been relevant a month ago. Tornoe-while your good at Pencil and Paper find a writer and a humorist to help you. All of your cartoons have shown a poor understanding of issues.
Re: SJ Boo-hoo Blue
I think you're just a hater. Tornoe's cartoons have been uneven, but I thought this one was funny. And I do think it's relevant with Corzine still insisting that the emails remain private, even as he backtracks on his labor dealings at the cost of the average New Jerseyan.
Get a sense of humor dude, and if he's so bad, draw your own cartoons!
At least he ...
turned the comment function back on :^0)
I'm not crying about the content
I just think its old news that he has already used. Its tired and unoriginal. I'll admit it might be one of his "better" ones but to quote the famous phrase "No matter how much lipstick you put on the pig, it is still a pig".
Lord Xenu
Wouldn't a pic of Spock or Warf be more fitting being that you're an extraterrestrial and all? At the risk of being subjected to a vulcan grip, I find the Kirk pic to be most illogical.;-)
As for the cartoon, I thought it was funny. What I find even funnier however is how some people here take themselves so seriously all the time. That's why some of you are so much fun to pick on.
Jeez, lighten up and learn how to laugh a little.
P.S., Xenu, on second thought, you know what would be a great pic? Balok! When I was a kid, and the Star Trek end credits used to roll, I used to cover my eyes at the very end because it scared the beejesus out of me everytime!

Geekiness revealed
Balok....what a creepy little guy!
What about the Gorn that Kirk fights? That could be a good pic to use.
An aside...I wonder why we haven't seen a Gorn in any of the movie sequels and new television series?
Gorn
Balok was wayyyyy scarier looking than Gorn. Gorn was probably the cheesiest alien character of the series. He just reminded me of Godzilla when I was little so he didn't scare me.
He wasn't without his charm though. I guess you could say he was a Star Trek pioneer.

Dino, I almost went with Spock ...
then I found the picture of Kirk on a Star Trek site and tossed logic to the wind ;^ ) Some of my fondest childhood memories center around practicing the Vulcan death grip on my sister.
Balok's head was frightening. Then it turns out it was just a four-year old Clint Howard travelling on a tiny ship guzzling some outer-space booze called "trania".
I think the NJGOP needs to come up with its own version of Kirk's ficticious "corbamite device" if it hopes to win statewide.
Still a crappy comic
For all the fun here -- and Dino's start of a conversation over LordXenu's pic was brilliant -- the comic still sucks.
It doesn't have anything to do with anything, and it strains to make a point that's better made with words.
Editorial cartoons are supposed to instantly make a point with images that cannot be quickly be made with words. Tornoe manages to take concepts simple to explain in words and make them confusing with images.
That's why he stinks as a cartoonist. He makes it harder to understand when cartoons are supposed to make it easier.
Oh, and one more thing
Why the hell are the e-mails on paper in a folder? He could have left off the words "Katz e-mails" and just had him sending an e-mail to Cheney on a computer.
It's just more lousy imaging from a guy who is presenting himself as a communicator through images.
