Englewood- Bergen County's District 37 State Assembly members Valerie Vainieri Huttle and Gordon M. Johnson offered their unequivocal support for the re-election of United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg.
"No deals, no games. We offer a firm endorsement. Senator Lautenberg has earned our support and respect," Hutle declared.
Johnson proclaimed the Senator's record something New Jerseyans could be proud of.
"Our United States Senator has fought to protect us by securing Homeland Security funds based on risk and not politics. He has strengthened security measures at our airports, seaports and chemical plants. Frank Lautenberg has worked to make New Jersey a safer place," said Assemblyman Johnson, Chairman of the Law and Public Safety committee and member of the committee for Homeland Security and State Preparedness.
Assemblywoman Vainieri Huttle, member of the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste committee, noted the Senator's outstanding environmental record.
Citing his work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to stop Global Warming, enforce the implementation of the Superfund program to ensure that polluters and not taxpayers pay for cleanups and his introduction of legislation to limit harmful chemicals in school buildings and grounds, Huttle added that "Frank Lautenberg has his priorities straight. He understands the need to protect our environment and has worked hard to ensure that our state and country are preserved for generations to come."
