Popular in Republican Party circles with statewide contacts, Donovan can regularly be counted on to break up the all male in grey suit look of a lot of Republican Party photo ops. A former assemblywoman and GOP state chair, she is in her fourth term as County Clerk.  At least on paper, she could arguably be the most obvious choice. A regular conqueror - of the embattled Bergen County Democratic Organization (BCDO), Donovan knows how to beat the machine in a county that both parties desperately need to win the governor’s race.
