Democrat Jon Corzine continues his struggle to win the approval of New Jersey voters as he approaches the start of a campaign to win re-election to a second term as Governor of New Jersey.  A Fairleigh Dickinson University poll has his name ID at 98%, with an upside-down 38%-42% approval rating.

There is some speculation that Corzine won't run next year, perhaps prefering to take a post in a Democratic administration.  The Governor states, fairly emphatically, that he has no interest in returning to Washington or even accepting a diplomatic post.  He says he's running for re-election.  Several Democrats are waiting in the wings -- just in case it becomes an open seat.  Even more New Jersey pols are angling to become the state's first Lieutenant Governor.
