Propp and Griffin: "Do the Right Thing"
Conaway and Conners refuse to stand up for the 7th District on asset sale plan
Burlington— Today, Assembly candidates Brian Propp and Nancy Griffin expressed their profound disappointment that Assemblymen Herb Conaway and Jack Conners have refused to join them in a bipartisan call to the Governor to immediately release his plan to sell state assets including the toll roads and the Lottery. Their statements come on the one-week anniversary of Propp and Griffin calling on their opponents to join them in asking for release of the Governor’s plan.
“This is really a simple test. We’re asking our opponents to join us in a bipartisan call to the Governor to release his plan so that the debate on selling or leasing our toll roads can happen prior to the election,” said Propp. “If Assemblymen Conaway and Conners believe that this issue is important, they’ll join us. This is a matter standing up for the 7th District, and that means working to get the voters the information they need before they go to the polls.”
“We need leaders, not labels, in the General Assembly,” said Griffin. “Leaders stand up for what is right. It is right for the voters to know what the Governor’s plan is and where all of us stand on it prior to the November election. It is right for Assemblymen Conaway and Conners to stand up and ask the Governor to release his plan. Brian and I call on our opponents to join us and do the right thing.”
