Paul endorses Sabrin for Senate

Presidential candidate Ron Paul today endorsed Ramapo College Professor Murray Sabrin for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in New Jersey.

"Murray has devoted his entire career to promoting limited government and personal freedom, and I am proud to have known him and worked with him for more than 25 years," said Paul. "H will not only be an outstanding representative of the people of New Jersey, but the greatest advocate of liberty and constitutional principles the U.S. Senate has seen in decades. I am delighted to endorse him and encourage all Americans who believe in freedom to support him enthusiastically."

Sabrin, who has not formally announced his candidacy, says he will focus on helping Paul win the New Jersey primary on February 5 before launching his own bid to win the June Senate primary.

We share the same dedication to honor the United States Constitution, which calls for limited federal government, as well as the Founders' commitment to protect Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The United States Senate could use a little more Life, Liberty and certainly some more Happiness – and that is what I intend to provide," Sabrin said in an e-mail to potential supporters.

Sabrin says he and Paul have been friends since they first met in 1982 at a monetary conference sponsored by the CATO Institute. Sabrin credits Paul for "harmonizing a strong defense of the pro-life position with the limited government principles."

Murray & Paul -- Perfect Together?

Gee, Maybe Murray Sabrin can give us his take on the downright racially charged and insulting articles published in one or another of Ron Paul's newsletters over many years.  He says he has been close with Paul since 1982?  Did Murray regularly receive these vile and ugly newsletters?

The New Republic (TNR) just reported on many of those obviously polemical articles, including pre-1999 pieces.  The TNR article, "Angry White Man" by James Kirchick, The bigoted past of Ron Paul, Tuesday, January 08, 2008.

Ron Paul's campaign now claims that Ron was supposedly unaware of these articles, even though all were published in one or another of Paul's publications -- one's with Paul's name on them -- over the past 3 decades.

Libertarians

I always said that Libertarians were either Conservatives who love pornos or Liberals who hate taxes...

Paul and Sabrin are pretty much in the same league on most issues. It should make that primary more interesting...

Re: Disappointing

Seeing how quickly Ron Paul's grassroots can raise money, it is very likely that Sabrin will tap into the support, raise millions, and then take on Estabrook after JP drops out and conservatives support Murray.
