Garden State Equality Endorses Sen. Frank Lautenberg for Re-Election

Garden State Equality Endorses Sen. Frank Lautenberg for Re-Election

Garden State Equality today announced it is endorsing Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg for re-election, citing his years of work on behalf of equality and civil rights.

“I am proud to accept Garden State Equality’s endorsement and vow to continue the fight against all forms of bigotry, hate and prejudice and for basic equality and human rights as New Jersey's United States Senator,” said Sen. Lautenberg.

Below are excerpts from Garden State Equality’s endorsement:

"Among all who have ever served in the U.S. Senate from New Jersey, he has been our greatest champion of equality.

"Senator Lautenberg has an unbelievably intense drive, fiercer than it's ever been, to improve people's lives.  With boundless energy, he continues to fight with as much passion and effectiveness as anyone else in politics.  His vision of America, and the countless legislative accomplishments that emanate from it, continue to be years ahead of the times.

“Shouldn't vision, energy and the proven ability to move our society forward be the standards by which we measure change?  Indeed, Senator Frank Lautenberg has been the ultimate agent of change – not just in his proposing change, but in achieving it.

"With his extraordinary legislative skills, we can't wait to see what Senator Lautenberg would achieve under a Democratic president.

"Garden State Equality endorses Frank R. Lautenberg for reelection to the United States Senate.  He is an all-time legend in improving our lives, and equally important, he remains at the top of his game."

Since Garden State Equality's founding in 2004, New Jersey has enacted 154 lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights laws at the state, county and municipal levels. Garden State Equality has 22,000 active members.
