O’TOOLE TEAM PICKS UP BACKING OF REPUBLICAN VETERANS KELLY AND MOLAÂ
Bergen County – State Senate candidate Kevin O’Toole and his team in the District 40 legislative race picked up two more endorsements today from Republicans with long and impressive track records.
Former State Assemblyman John Kelly of Nutley and former Bergen County Freeholder Dick Mola announced they were supporting O’Toole’s nomination for state Senate and Assemblyman David Russo and Wayne Township Mayor Scott Rumana for the Assembly seats in the district.Â
Kelly, who served in the state legislature for 18 years, said Assemblyman O’Toole – who served 11 in the State Assembly and one year in the State Senate, “will be an outstanding senator for District 40.  Kevin works incredibly hard in the legislature. He’s not afraid to tackle the tough issues and stand up against the waste of taxpayer money that is rampant in Trenton. The residents of District 40 would be fortunate to have Kevin O’Toole as their state senator.â€?Â
Mola, the mayor of Elmwood Park, said “there is really only one choice for Bergen County Republicans in District 40 – it’s the O’Toole team.  “When you look at what the O’Toole’s team brings to the table, it is ludicrous for the Bergen Republican Party to even think about getting behind anyone else, said Mola.
“This is an outstanding team that will not only help Republicans get elected, but will be terrific representatives of the taxpayers of District 40. Â
O’Toole, 42, has represented District 40 for six years in the Assembly. Russo, 53, has served in the Assembly since Assembly 1990. Rumana, 42, the Passaic County GOP Chairman, has served as mayor of Wayne for more than five years, and previously served four years as a Passaic County freeholder.
District 40 is comprised of: Cedar Grove Township, Franklin Lakes Borough, Little Falls Township, Mahwah Township, Midland Park Borough, Oakland Borough, Ridgewood Village, Ringwood Borough, Verona Township, Wanaque Borough, Wayne Township, Wyckoff Township
