Payne Announces Grant for Roselle Fire Department

Washington, DC – United States Congressman Donald M. Payne today announced that the US Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the US Fire Administration has awarded $23,868 to the Roselle Fire Department through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.

The AFG Program provides financial support to our nation’s local fire departments.  The grants help fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical services organizations obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles and training.

“In emergencies, our local fire departments are one of the first lines of defense,” Payne stated.  “It is vital to ensure that they are able to perform at their highest capability.  I am happy that Roselle’s fire department will be able to use this funding to continue their great work.”
