PENNSVILLE – State Senator Stephen M. Sweeney and State Assemblymen John J. Burzichelli and Douglas H. Fisher announced today they have received the endorsement of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) PAC representing over 200,000 New Jersey active and retired educators.
“The education community recognizes our ongoing efforts supporting New Jersey’s children and public schools,” said Senator Sweeney. “Thanks to their hard work and dedication, our schools continue to improve and provide a quality education for students.”
“The NJEA and its members make a positive impact on our children’s education everyday,” added Assemblyman Burzichelli. “By working together we can continue to move forward to address the issues affecting public schools throughout the state.”
In addition to a new school funding formula, the incumbent legislators will continue to support efforts to improve New Jersey’s public schools including school construction, special education, mentoring of new teachers, professional development and student bullying.
“Our schools and teachers face so many more challenges today,” said Assemblyman Fisher. “We are dedicated to supplying them with the tools they need so our children can succeed in and out of the classroom.”
Earlier this week, the NJEA PAC finalized its endorsements acting on the recommendations of screening committees in each of the state’s 40 legislative districts.
