GREEN: CHRISTIE LACKS SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS FOR NEW JERSEY      PLAINFIELD – Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green (D-Union) today issued the following statement in response to conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie’s recent visit to Plainfield:                “Last week I had the occasion to see conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie campaign in Plainfield, and even now, several days later, I am appalled at what I heard.      “Conservative candidate Christie spouted a lot of nice-sounding talk about issues ranging from jobs to housing, yet he offers no specific solutions. He offered nothing about where the money would come from to pay for his plans. He offered nothing but vague answer after vague answer to questions that impact cities and suburbs alike.       "Unfortunately, the complete and utter lack of substance we saw in Plainfield is par for the Christie course.      “Christie offers nothing more than partisan rhetoric that sounds no different from the Bush-Cheney agenda that helped shove our nation into a painful recession.  Chris Christie's lack of respect is a disservice to New Jersey voters who deserve and demand specific solutions.        “His conservative right wing values are the wrong choices for New Jersey. Christie can shrug off all tough questions all he wants, but that does nothing to create a job or find decent housing for hard-working residents like teachers and firefighters.      “As last week showed, President Obama sees what we are doing here in New Jersey and he knows we are on the right track. The Governor and the President share the same values. The Governor and the President both work to protect our children, our seniors and our most vulnerable. They see us emerging stronger and sooner from the deep economic recession that they both inherited. They see us dealing with and resolving the problems that have been long neglected, such as health care reform and education. They share an optimistic vision for New Jersey and the nation.”###

Isn't this idiot...

one of the tools that participated in Codey's slush funds? Didn't he vote for borrowing for operating expenses, taxes, government growth, and evrything else that has screwed up this state? Whatever democrat legislators say, do the opposite and you will be fine.

I heard Green was sucking up to Christie when he visited..

What a hypocrite. I'm sure the Plainfield development scandals Green has his hand in will come out...

Green.

what a joke... Democrat State committee is trtting out democrat legislators now... as though any of them have any credibility whatsoever. Laughable. Embarrassing. As though anyone in this State will say, "Oh Green says Christie stinks... better vote for Corzine now. Hahahahahahahaha. Noone is voting for a guy whose main accomplishments are ggetting rid of the death penalty for cop killers and a needle exchange law.

He's right

I, too, am disappointed in how intentionally vague Christie has been in his policy proposals and how he only mentions the most vague ideas in response to any specific tax, economic, or budgetary policy. Assemblyman Green is right in suggesting that Christie has only offered vapid "feel-good" rhetoric rather than substantive policies. Hold Christie accountable.
