Nibot criticizes Weinberg for holding a grudge

Republican state Senate candidate Clara Nibot says that her opponent, Loretta Weinberg, should not be spending her time fighting with Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joe Ferriero.

Instead, Nibot said, Weinberg should be addressing the $3 billion budget deficit that’s expected next year.

“Instead of wasting her time carrying out a vendetta against the chairman of her political party, Sen. Weinberg should be focusing on addressing the looming state budget crisis that not even Gov. Jon Corzine can ignore,” said Nibot.

Nibot said that the deficit would ultimately lead to higher taxes unless Weinberg and other “Trenton Democrats” cut state spending.

Nibot is running a long-shot campaign against Weinberg in the district 37, which is a Clean Elections district. Although Weinberg and her running mates all gathered the 800 signatures to qualify for full funding under the program, Nibot’s slate did not.

Although Nibot did try to qualify for Clean Elections program, she attacked Weinberg for accepting the funds.

"Now Sen. Weinberg is compounding her abuse of taxpayers by taking $500,000 in public money for her campaign," said Nibot. "The state is headed for a financial crisis and all she can think of is getting her hands on more taxpayer money to advance her political career."

But Weinberg noted that she and her running mates each received $100,000 from the program ($500,000 goes to candidates in swing districts), and that Nibot said at last night's debate that she had no problem with Clean Elections.

"If she would stop wasting paper on silly press releases, we would both have more time to address the looming budget deficit," said Weinberg.

Nibot Was Off Base....

......and somewhat out of line with that crack.

Loretta isn't involved in any kind of "vendetta" towards Joe. If anything, it's the other way around.

If Ferriero were to move to Mars tomorrow; there would be a dozen like him to take his place....and the same applies to parts of the state that are run by Republican "bosses".

It's the system, stupid.

I was at the debate last night and the Republicans took a few good swings, didn't land a punch.

I do give them credit for being sincere, passionate, polite and well spoken (unlike some of the folks who post here ;-).

Here's a memorable video snippet.

Quote of the Day

I think Mr. Cifarelli should be in the running for quote of the day saying anyone is a reformer compared to Joe Ferrerio

The truth will come out

I got in my hand a copy of the press release Nibot sent to all newspapers. I had a litle more respect for Mr. Friedman until now.The editing of her release was done with the intention of benefiting Senator Weinberg.

Thanks to the fact that Nibot foward that release all around her words can't be taken out of context because of the point of view of one reporter. What Nibot simply said is that everytime Weinberg runs for reelection is tythe same show. after the election Ferriero and her kiss and makeup for another four more years. Why this show now when she should be focusing in the many serious issues in the district and state. Nibot don't think is fair to the Taxpayers to give Weinberg the maximun $100,000.00 because she had a well founded campaign from before that she put to use wisely since the beginning of the year.

Joe Ferriero and Clara Nibot: Perfect Together...

They say, "Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows" but this picture is wretchedly obscene to the point of stupendosity cubed. :-)

Both of these characters are slobbering so desperately to say or do anything to diminish the reformers in the 37th that they don't realize how transparantly obvious is their own hypocrisy.

Clara has never in her life cared that the Republican party is in bed with the Moonies and Joe is in charge of a morally and ethically corrupt machine that is guilty of systemic legalized bribery.

What an pathetic and unholy alliance, eh?
