How Can We Believe Anything He Says?

"'Corzine never voted to increase taxes on Social Security income, in fact he voted to reduce taxes on Social Security income,' [Ivette Mendez] said." (Gregory J. Volpe, "Forrester touts caring for seniors, property tax plan," Asbury Park Press, September 28, 2005)
But, The Record Shows Corzine Voted For Higher Taxes On Social Security Benefits:

You are refutung a claim that Corzine never voted to increase taxes with two votes to to cut taxes.
Exactly how is voting to leave taxes at the same level they are at voting "for higher taxes"?
By that rationale every legislative session that doesn't end in a tax cut for every tax at every level is a vote to increase taxes.

Once again the Democrats are proving themselves the defenders of the status quo. Voting against the repeal of a tax cut is very much a vote for higher taxes. Corzine voted twice to keep the 1993 tax hikes on Social Security benefits. And by the way, Corzine called that 1993 tax hike a "necessary action" so he supported the increase too.
And perhaps Mr. Corzine should remember, the tax vote Ms. Mendez boasted Corzine supported was actually a vote against the 2003 dividend tax cut - another tax that overwhelmingly affects seniors.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Trust Jon Corzine to lower taxes and reduce the size of government would be about as smart as trusting Michael Jackson to babysit your kids.
That doesn't answer the question... how does voting AGAINST tax
That doesn't answer the question... how does voting AGAINST tax cuts constitute a vote FOR increased taxes? Doesn't the phrase that you use, "status quo" mean remain the same? That would mean that an INCREASE in taxes is in fact the opposite of the status quo. Your use of DoubleSpeak is astounding.

You'd think you people would know how to work the Senate votes site, but anyway:
CORZINE VOTED TO REPORT BILL THAT WOULD REPEAL TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME. [Vote #147, Amendment to HR 2, Adopted 98-2, 05/15/03]
CORZINE VOTED TO REDUCE TAXABILITY OF SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME. [Vote #149, motion to waive failed 49-51, 5/15/2003]
