Third district congressional candidate Christopher Myers has dropped Jamestown Associates as his campaign consultant – just a week after Jamestown scored a major victory in Maryland where their client ousted a seven-term incumbent in a GOP primary.
Jamestown, the Princeton-based firm headed by Larry Weitzner and Tom Blakely, worked for retiring GOP incumbent Jim Saxton. They are the consultants for U.S. Senate candidate Anne Evans Estabrook and 7th district House candidate Leonard Lance.

no "smooth sailing" in Myers-land
First, Myers doesn't really take press questions at his campaign kick-off and absolutely flubs on the question of whether he would vote for the original Iraq War resolution. Now, these questionable hires continue, including his lack of vetting of what seems to be some GOP henchmen. Myers has not inspired confidence in his competency thus far.
Per usual, Blue Jersey already covered the Myers-Jamestown story last month:

It lives
It lives. It crawls back from under the rock and speaks. Now back to reality - this was a long time coming. The campaign had hired two consultants and when Chris Russell was hired to run the campaign, it was obvious to anyone with any common sense that Jamestown would be let go and The Traz Group would come on full time. And no one really cares what your opinion is on the competency issue. You don't live in the district or know anything about it other than what Rick Perr tells you, and you continue to believe that Dennison was a competent candidate. Enough said.
Very Concerning
Having Chris Russell, who lost Evesham's race last year and who will run up your bills with Traz Group mailers is not a good idea. Proves Chris Myers is an insider and not for the common people.
Plus, isn't Chris Russell on the payroll of Haines, Addiego & Rudder?? How in the world will he have time to do both jobs?? Will he be working 16 hour days? Or will he be short changing Myers out of a real campaign manager? Or worse, will he abuse tax payer $$ and work for Myers while he should be working for the state?? Sounds like this calls for an investigation. I hope Sen. Haines will not allow Russell to abuse the tax payer $$$.
As a Burlington County Resident who wants to support Myers, this is very concerning.
Calm down
I would doubt very much you're going to find any scandal here. More like people concerned with winning a campaign. Thanks in large part to Russell's efforts Haines, Addiego & Rudder crushed Perr, Franny, Tracey and Fifis not to mention the county races sweeping. Alot different from last year wasn't it? Instead of looking for trouble where there is none, why don't you get on the team and be part of a big win for once in your sorry life.
Ed Traz
The only time Traz gets any press is when his house burns down.
Which seems to happen often.
GetAclue
GetAclue -please Get A Clue! Taxpayer dollars? Russell is paid by the campaign not by the taxpayer. Campaigns in this country are not public funded. So before you start calling for investigations, get the facts correct.
Disgruntled
Get A Life is a disgruntled GOP who hates that the R’s crushed last November in Burlington County. Would have preferred a loss just to say “I told you so.”
Chris Russell resigned from the 8th District to run Myers campaign two weeks ago.
The question will come down to who do we want representing us in DC:
A triple dipper from Ocean County with a tax record that would impress Corzine?
A Trenton politician who has led us into this oblivion of debt and taxes and increased spending by $11 billion in a few short years?
A combat decorated veteran, business leader, and community activist with a green streak that would impress most environmentalists?
The choice is clear – Myers will kick butt.
Glad to Hear
Its good to see Chris Russell has resigned. I was concerned that he would remain on the payroll during the campaign like other 8th district staffers have done in the past.
I heard Rick England is new guy in charge down in the 8th.
Rick England will be a good fit down there. Can help the freshman legislators find their way around Trenton and get established. Glad to see the ppl in Burlington finally got it right!
