In response to the release of these scorecards, Martin Marks and William “Bo” Vastine, candidates for the General Assembly in 22nd Legislative District, issued the following statements:
“According to the rankings of the non-partisan New Jersey Taxpayers Alliance, Jerry Green and Linda Stender are hostile to taxpayers and businesses. As Bo and I have stated before, we can’t think of a single tax that they haven’t supported.” Marks continued, “ The tax and spend policies of the Democrat majority in Trenton has led to a migration of over 370,000 people leaving our state. New Jersey for the past eight years has been in an affordability crisis, and Green and Stender couldn’t care less”.
“I am grateful to the New Jersey Taxpayers Alliance for shining the light on the abysmal record of Jerry Green and Linda Stender. Since the Democrats took over the majority in 2002, they ‘ve voted to increase taxes and fees 115 times. This has cost taxpayers over 8 billion dollars and it still isn’t enough for Jerry and Linda, ” added Bo Vastine.
“When we are sworn in January 2010, Marty and I look forward to rolling back the destructive policies of the past eight years and return our state to its rightful shareholders, the people of New Jersey”, concluded Vastine.
