Mark Meyerowitz, a lifelong resident of New Jersey, officially announced today his candidacy for Assemblyman in New Jersey's 27th district. Meyerowitz grew up in Fair Lawn and has been a resident of West Orange for the past 20 years. Meyerowitz is married, has two college age children, and is an Investment Advisor.
"I am running for office because New Jersey government is one of the worst run state governments in the nation. While other states have taken advantage of the strong economy of the past few years by balancing their budgets and reducing taxes, New Jersey has done just the opposite. Even Democratic controlled state governments have managed to rein in government spending and taxes. New Jersey Democrats are out of step with the trends in their own political party, and this has cost New Jersey residents dearly. I believe that the taxpayers of New Jersey are tired of being viewed as a never ending ATM for government, and are ready for Representatives who will work to reduce government spending and taxes. As a lifelong Republican, I believe that the taxpayer is entitled to spend or invest his own money; he/she doesn't need oversized government to spend it for him."
