(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Princeton) issued the following statement regarding the Obama administration’s decision to allow states to set standards for automobile emissions:
“I am extremely pleased that President Obama has chosen to overturn the Bush policy of preventing states from regulating vehicle emissions.
“Clean car laws are a first step towards combating climate change. New Jersey and its partner states can now move forward in implementing emission reduction programs.
“This action shows President Obama is serious about protecting our environment and ensuring our children breathe clean air. This is truly the change we need.”
Assemblyman Gusciora was the sponsor of the New Jersey law which mandated the California Low Emission Vehicle Program.
