Conservatives rate Little number one among congressional candidates
Steve Lonegan, AFP exec. director

Americans for Prosperity and the Political Club for Growth rated Republican Mayor Anna Little of the Highlands as their favorite candidate among 14 who participated today in a Saddle Brook straw poll.

State Sen. Mike Doherty (R-Washington Twp.) and AFP Vice President of Policy Phil Kerpen asked the questions and gave candidates five minutes apiece to answer.

Running in the 6th Congressional district, Little took first place with 272 points; District 4 candidate Alan Bateman placed second with 139 points; David Corsi from the 12th District, finished third with 122; Fair Haven Mayor and 12th Congressional District candidate Mike Halfacre, 78;  Princeton venture capitalist and 12th District candidate Scot Sipprelle, 74; U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton)  received seven points, or 34 points behind his long shot challenger, Tewksbury businessman David Larsen.

Earlier in the day at the Middlesex County GOP Convention, Little was defeated 2-1 by Rumson millionaire Diane Gooch, who did not participate in the conservatives' forum.
