Wisniewski interested in speaker's job, but wants to stay locked in on reelection bid
Deputy Speaker John Wisniewski (D-Sayreville)

Assembly Deputy Speaker John Wisniewski (D-Sayreville) today lauded retiring Speaker Joe Roberts (D-Camden), and acknowledged that he's interested in the leadership post Roberts will vacate at the end of his term this year.

"We're going to miss a great leader," said Wisniewski. "His leadership will be noticably absent at the start of the next session.

"I am interested in making the case to my colleagues, however there's a little detail called a general election we have to get though first," Wisniewski added. "It's all interesting and noteworthy, but let's win the election then talk about leadership. Is the question, 'Am I interested?' Yes, of course, I am interested."

Of even more immediate concern to Wisniewski than the general election is this evening's special Democratic Party convention at the Forge, where 19th District county committee members will select a running mate for Wisniewski, who's already been through two of them: Assemblyman Joe Vas (D-Perth Amboy) (downed by state and federal corruption charges) and South Amboy Mayor John T. O'Leary, who's trying to ward off the blow back caused by a state Attorney General's Office subpoena dropped in his direction amid the Vas investigation.

Who would vote for Wisniewski as Speaker????

Barnes- Maybe
Himself- Yes
19th D runningmate- Yes
Diegnan- No
Egan- No
Chivukula- No
He does not have the Middlesex Delegation behind him.
Frankly I doubt he could make a serious play for Majority Leader next year.

Cryan is a crook

Besides being a double-dipping politician who shook down charities for illegal campaign contributions, Cryan is co-owner of the Camelot Title Insurance Company, which was closed down by an investigation into political corruption.

A technicality allowed his father to escape conviction on corruption charges while he was Essex County Sheriff in 1979, Cryan's son spent time behind bars last year for beating a man with a baseball bat, and members of the Cryan Crime Family set legal precedent with drunk driving violations.

He looks like a schmuck in this pic

Don't you just want to throw tomatoes at him looking like that?

Hahahahahahahaha! Whatever!

POSTER CHILD FOR CORRUPTION... HE DIPPED INTO CODEY'S SLUSH FUND AND GAVE MONEY TO A TOWN NOT EVEN IN HIS DISTRICT WHICH JUST HAPPENED TO EMPLOY HIM AS MUNICIPAL ATTORNEY... OH... AND THE MAYOR OF THAT TOWN WAS MERLA... A GUY WHO WENT TO JAIL FOR CORRUPTION... WONDER WHY WISNIEWSKI FELT THE NEED TO USE HIS POWER AS A LEGISLATOR TO HELP KEYPORT INSTEAD OF HIS OWN TOWNS IN HIS OWN DISTRICTS?! HMMMMMMM. WHAT A JOKE. THIS STATE IS BEYOND HELP.

Simple Question

How can Wisniewski think he is going to be leader of the assembly, when he isnt even leading his own district? His candidate for running mate in the 19th lost 70%-20% last night. He has lost races in Sayreville for the past two years where he is chairman.

The Maritime 19th

is swinging rapidly to the right. Coughlin and Wisinewski come out of the Perth limping, and they will lose Woodbridge and Sayreville badly.

The question is moot.

On November 4th he'll be a lame duck asking what just happened? Vote Column "A"- All the way!
