Assembly Minority Whip Jon Bramnick (R-Westfield), chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, on Monday will convene hearings throughout the state to examine and stamp out corruption.
Republican Leader and Assemblyman Alex DeCroce (R-Parsippany) requested that Bramnick take the lead on the issue in the aftermath of a federal bust last month resulting in the arrests of 29 public officials and operatives.
Bramnick will convene the first hearing at the State House on Monday, August 17, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Room 209. The public is invited to speak before the committee.
The speakers before the Policy Committee will include former prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys, as well as members of the public.
According to a release from Bramnick's office, the committee’s goal is to expose the cause of public corruption and draft legislation to prevent it. "Along with Assemblyman Bramnick, the committee includes: Assemblywoman Dawn Marie Addiego (R-Burlington), Assemblywoman Denise Coyle (R-Somerset), Assemblyman David Rible (R-Monmouth), Assemblyman Scott Rumana (R-Passaic), Assemblywoman Charlotte Vandervalk (R-Bergen) and Assemblyman David Wolfe (R-Monmouth)."
Bramnick was a short list candidate for lieutenant governor for GOP gubernatorial nominee Chris Christie.

Holy cow!
Absolutely no mention that these are PARTISAN hearings and have absolutely no authority under the government. That's some excellent reporting there.
More Than Timid Jon's Done
Jon Corzine (D-Out of Touch) last September(11 MONTHS AGO) unveiled his blue ribbon ethics plan, which included a committee to study ethics issues on the local level.
How many meetings have they had? ZERO
How many people have been named to the committee? ZERO
But he says, don't worry, it will get tackled after the election.
The man is a disgrace. He will SAY ANYTHING to get elected...but as we've seen DO LITTLE once he gets the job.
Where's the story here?
A NJ politician holding corruption hearings... can anyone say oxymoron?
Seriously though this panel is a joke...There are no witnesses listed... because noone that will bring any real information is going to sit before this all Republican committee that was made up so these folks would have something to do. It sounds to me like Decroce and Braminick and the rest of these jokers are trying to get political mileage out of the corruption issue rather than actually fix it.
The picture appears
to be CC saying, "less filling".
