Former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan
The Lonegan campaign cut and issued a radio ad and amplified its outrage today in the aftermath of an Associated Press story highlighting Christie campaign confidante John Inglesino’s collection of a pension in connection with part time work as a state senate legal consultant.
“The fact that one of Christie’s closest associates is double dipping from the same part time pension funds that Christie promises to end is not only alarming but also insulting to the taxpayers of New Jersey,” Lonegan said in a statement. “If he can’t prevent this type of disingenuous behavior within his own campaign, he cannot expect the voters of New Jersey to believe that he will follow through with his promise to end it in the state.
“Considering his questionable record regarding ethics, sadly this news isn’t very surprising,” added the former mayor of Bogota. “As governor, I will end the pension program for part times state employees and I can assure you that my closest friends and advisors will not be exempt. Christie failing to denounce the actions of Inglesino, and choosing once again to avoid questions proves that Christie will be another Trenton empty-suit.”

wtf?
Christie said it wouldn't happen under his administration either and he would end it, no exceptions.
I know Steve's blind, but is he deaf too?
Apparently the media is deaf too...or too busy trying to save Corzine's ass by promoting this crap. This is such a last minute salvage attempt, it's sad. The Courier Post misreported it, and now you are right there with them.
WTF...
What was misreported?
Insanity
Inglesino has NO role in the Christie campaign. Lonegan is a desperate, lying, manipulating human being. Good riddance come Tuesday when he loses his fifth election outside of Bogota. In addition, Lonegan the Liar says Christie didn't denounce it---he should read PolitickerNJ---he did this morning in Cranford. These people lie about their numbers, lie about their opposition and believe that they can say and do anything to win----disgraceful and a waste of taxpayer money (matching funds).
Steve Lonegan is a Shameless Man...
He is hell bent of carrying an angry, bitter and divisive campaign. Thank god that Republican party establishment figures have been stepping in and endorsing Chris Christie. Steve Lonegan is a man who speaks from anger and desperation. He's spent four years planning this bitter campaign of his and now can't figure out why he hasn't been able to make a dent in Christie's poll numbers. I'm looking forward to Tuesday's primary where Christie will hopefully bury Lonegan once and for all.
The Christie supports speak
The Christie supports speak for themselves about who is angry. these are the same people that are responsible for putting Obama in.
Russ
That may be the winner of your dumbest post of the week. You had many but saying that Christie supporters got Obama elected is a stretch even by your absurd standards
Desperate is as desperate does
No one pays attention to this crap except delusional wingnuts. The media doesn't care or, even if they did, it only shows there is nothing else to report since this campaign was over before it began.
This is getting to be like Obama's birth certificate, and will have about the same impact; zero.
Maybe Looneygan can get Phyllis Schlafly, Joe the Plumber and the mayor of Lavallette to get together for one big pre-election rally.
Lonegan is surging
Christie, the self-appointed ethical prince of New Jersey is tarnished again by his own self-serving rhetoric.
The strong commbination of anti-Christie ads by Corzine and Lonegan's own media buy will make for a long night for fatso...
Vote Column "A" - All the way!
Whoa! D&D, Wait just a minute!
Your credentials are not in order. Hey, we don't even have your credentials.
LONEGAN SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED!
according to kyw news this afternoon
MIGHTY LITTLE MOUSE STEVEIE HELD A VICTORY RALLY IN BURLCO!! ACCORDING TO THE NEWS AND YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT ONLINE AT KWY.COM THEY REPORT THAT CHRISTIE IS MORE THAN 20 PTS AHEAD IN EVERY POLL TAKEN AND THE PROOF OF LONEGANS IDIOCY IS WELL ONLY ABOUT 20 PPL SHOWED UP AND MOST OF THEM WERE REPORTERS!
Go online and read the report!
Lonegan is showing himself to really be a piece of garbage with a bad rug to prove it.
THIS final nail of a bitter dried up little man against Christie and us backers has hurt him beyond repair.
Either way he loses next week or gets royally spanked in November
Wow, some the people on here
Wow, some the people on here don't understand that it is all the phony Republicans like Chris Christie Whitman that causes people to vote for the Democrats.
New Polls
New Rasmussen poll taken Wed shows Christie's lead less than half of the last poll. 11 points with +/- 5
46% Chris Christie
35% Steve Lonegan
4% Some other candidate
15% Not sure
Check your credentials
"New Rasmussen poll taken Wed shows Christie's lead less than half of the last poll. 11 points with +/- 5"
Whatever your credentials they don't involve polling. You're comparing apples to oranges. Last week's polls involved different organizations.
If you want to compare apples to apples the last Rasmussen poll taken two weeks ago had Christie with a ten point lead and 29% undecided. Yesterday's poll has Christie with an 11 point lead and 15% undecided, so the undecideds are breaking about even with a slight edge to Christie.
Maybe your credentials should be reexamined.
So now you are saying the
So now you are saying the Quinnipiac poll is no good? Is that what you are saying now? You seemed to agree with that before. Maybe you are confused? Which polls are good and which ones not?
I gave my credentials, I have a Master's degree from Rutgers. What are your credentials?
Poor Confused Russ

Since he never said that the Quinnipiac poll was no good, what would confuse you into thinking that's what he meant?
All he was saying is that Quinnipiac, Rasmussen, Democracy Corp, SurveyUSA and all the other polling groups are separate entities and as such, you should not confuse the results of their polling data with each other. Each does their own polling research and so when Quinnipiac says that Christie is 23pts ahead and Rasmussen says that he is 11pts ahead (up one point from Rasmussen's previous account), it means that one has him 23pts ahead and the other has him 11pts up. It does not mean that Christie went down 12pts in the polls.
This isn't a hard concept to grasp, but it requires you to remove your head from your ass (no credentials required for that).

Look at hte Polls!
The Polls! The Polls! The Polls!
Don't think voters! Don't evaluate issues!
Just look at Polls! You have to vote for what the poll says! Forget that a candidate can't get his story straight!
Some guy in Connecticut, who you don't know, and have no idea who is paying him, what his agenda his, knows better that you do who you should vote for! Forget what you are really seeing and hearing, everyone else is!
Stop thinking, and evaluating the ACTIONS of candidates! That is no good! You must honor the polls!!! The polls!

?????
When Lonegan was the part time Mayor of Bogata, was he enrolled in the pension system??
Why hasn't anyone asked that question. How about his council members and part time municipal employees where they?
Russ--Gop guy
Russ----your stupidity knows no bounds. If you are an example of what a masters degree from Rutgers stands for---then I'll take someone with GED from Bloomfield Tech. All your nicknames for Christie are not funny or original. Call him what you like, the announcers will be calling him runaway winner on Tuesday evening. GOPGUY---not one post has talked about just listening to the polls and not the candidate. The polls are a reflection of what the candidate has said to those polled, and thus the way they now wish to vote. But I'm sure you know that, it just doesn't fit your candidate of choice right now. In terms of 101.5 yesterday, that clip shows just how cool Christie can stay under the ridiculous assault from an a-hole. Lonegan would have done has exasperated exhale and yell about 50 times....but we would never know since the press has NEVER taken him seriously.
Russ---here are some facts that even you should understand. Lonegan's tax plan would raise taxes on over 50% of NJ and 75% of seniors on a fixed income. It will drop the revenue base substantially---and would take years to make that lost revenue up. Steve says that wealthy people will move back to NJ in droves--when will that realistically happen? That's a big roll of the dice Steve... Lonegan believes that if you are in a horrendous school district, that you deserve a voucher to go to another horrendous school inside of that district----wow thats a great choice Steve. Lonegan would not fight to keep GITMO prisoners from being jailed at Ft Dix----great idea Steve. Lonegan thinks that illegals should be deported---just do it after they help him put up some signs---thanks again Steve.
Finally, Lonegan has distorted Christie's positions since the first county convention in Union---that's not surprising since he has done that throughout his entire career---in EVERY single election that he has run in. This is an angry guy on an enormous ego trip. In 2005, at this point in the campaign, Lonegan said that it was a 3 person race between himself, Schundler and Forrester----we all know that Lonegan received 8% of the vote. The man wouldn't know the truth if it smacked him upside his bald head.
Wrong Gore
"Inglesino has NO role in the Christie campaign." - Gored
Chris Christie said on the radio yesterday that Inglesino was running phone banks for him. Additionally, it ahs been reported that Inglesino's law firm earned $3 million after Christie appointed it to monitor an out-of-court corporate fraud settlement. He, his law partners and their wives gave Christie's campaign the maximum allowable donations.
THese two are tight. Very tight.
"We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work!"
- FDR's Treasure Secretary, Henry Morgenthau, in 1939, on 8 years of New Deal spending as an attempt to end the Great Depression.
To gorednj
Although I disagree with your assertion that the Lonegan flat tax "will drop the revenue base substantially," when you make such a statement, intellectually honesty would at least require that the same could not be said of your preferred candidate's plan. But you know as well as I that no such statement can be made. You just don't know what Christie's plan will or won't do because he has not revealed it. My father always told me to never buy a cat in a bag and with Christie that is precisely what you are doing. Moreover, the Lonegan voucher plan would allow students to attend any school within the district---Catholic, private, charter or public--not just another public school.
P.S. About the Polls
Regardless of who conducted the poll, a recent poll by a well respected polling outfit showed Lonegan within 11 points of Christie--welcome news for the Lonegan camp especially considering the wealth of the Christie campaign.

Wow, Russ...
This guy from BlueJersey has been pretty pro-Lonegan and anti-Christie for a long time. Has it ever occurred to you that he's one of the many Democrats attacking Christie because they fear Christie in a general election?
Don't invest too much in the polls though...
I absolutely think that Chris Christie is going to have a solid victory next week in the primary, but I highly doubt it will be a swollen margin like 23pts. If I had to place money on it, I bet he'll score a nice victory of around 10-15%. It is worth noting that in the general election, both Monmouth University and Quinnipiac projected that Obama would carry NJ by 21pts and 23pts and he wound up winning by 15pts.
Credentials
"I have a Master's degree from Rutgers. What are your credentials?"
What is the size of your penis?
Who cares!
(Sorry about the inappropriate language but I just couldn't resist).
We have established that
We have established that roryar, WillianSH, and CliffordCase have no credentials and this political stuff is a little to much for them. they seem to melt down when questioned.
Just like the unelectable Chris Christie Whitman: http://www.nj1015.com/audio/CHRISTIE_052909.mp3
is this scandal #7 or #8?!
I am losing count as the press and the Democrats vet the candidate that should have had this done by the people who are now deparately trying to convince people that they should ignore factual history and THIS TIME they have it right....LOL!
And his melt down on 101.5 is hysterical. Um, ah, er, Chris Christie, you are no longer a US attorney and in law enforcement. And the people you are talking to are not under investigation or already felons of some kind.
Unlike Republican weak political hacks, you cannot intimidate press people on live radio. Your bullying tactics do not work on them. Or on us.
A vote for Chris Christie is a vote to re elect John Corzine, no more then ever!
