State Democratic Party Chairman Joseph Cryan today celebrated a state appeals court ruling that Gov. Jon Corzine doesn’t need to release his email transmissions with former girlfriend Carla Katz, former president of Communications Workers of America Local 1034.
“I expect Tom Wilson and the Republican Party will be reimbursing the taxpayers of New Jersey,” said Cryan, referring to the State Republican Party Chairman’s suit to gain access to the emails.
Wilson feared a conflict as Corzine and Katz participated in negotiations for a new state workers’ contract in 2007.
But according to Cryan, “This was nothing but a political attempt by a party short of money to use taxpayer dollars for its political advantage. The Republican Party’s political voyeurism has been shown for what it is: crass manipulation.”
Today, Wilson’s attorney, Mark Sheridan, told the Star-Ledger, “We disagree with the court's ruling that the governor properly asserted executive privilege or that the governor can demonstrate executive privilege,” and said he would be discussing options with his client.

Is is just me or does this fellow Cryan
always look inebriated? Can't imagine a worst looking leader for the state Dems, especially in a change climate. Can't the Dems find someone who goes to the dry cleaners once in a while?
Of Course...
...he applaus the ruling. He doesn't want anyone to know what was really going on behind the scenes during the negotiations. That would have made Corzine, Katz, and Cryan look foolish.
Honestly, this was one of the thorns in Corzine's sides that could have been used against him in November. Now the GOP will have to highlight the impropriety of it - even if the courts ignore it - to the masses.
The only question is, will they listen? As we know, many New Jerseyans are kind of def, dumb, and blind when it comes to corruption or anything that smacks of dishonesty. Will they sit up and listen this time around?

What Cryan lacks in looks he makes up for in brains and skill. He is by far the most skillful of NJ's Dem Party Chairs in recent memory. Aside from the severely mishandled Cohen issue (which I have criticised him for repeatidly) he has been a strong chair for the party
