Senate President Richard Codey (D-Essex) refused to comment on testimony delivered today by George LeBlanc, a Democratic budget aide, who said legislators abused a state program dedicated to property tax relief.
LeBlanc gave his testimony in the corruption trial of former Sen. Wayne Bryant (D-Camden).
In a brief conversation with PolitickerNJ.com, Codey said his lawyers have advised him against making comments about last year's state budget scandals until after the end of the corruption trial of state Sen. Joseph Coniglio (D-Bergen).

That no comment tells you everything you need to know.
How much was Codey's piece? You can bet he got fed if his members did. And if turns out he's not on that account, then look at how much funding his insurance clients got.
oink oink
LeBlanc? Can you say LePinkslip
George is safe
LeBlanc is a respected, competent professional. Codey can't fire him because it would look bad. He will probably fire a higher-up for "failing" to tell him what was going on.
LeBlanc...
is a good guy and a straight shooter. It's his boss (Codey) that has issues - lots of them. He helped set this fake grant program up which wound up with legislators getting indicted and even Corzine knowing better than to let the illegal charade continue. If he fires LeBlanc, his whistleblower suit will make Jeanne Fox' suit look like a walk in the park.
