Trenton Mayor Doug Palmer: Politicker file photo
DENVER - The name of Trenton Mayor Doug Palmer often appears on people’s short lists for lieutenant governor in 2009.
Palmer doesn’t have a problem with that.
"I’m thinking about it," he told PoltiickerNJ.com, regarding attempting to land an under-card position on a ticket with Gov. Jon Corzine.
Other potential candidates whom delegates and elected officials have mentioned during the course of the Democratic National Convention include Assembly Majority Leader Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing), Newark Mayor Cory Booker, and U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews (D-Haddon Heights).

Palmer won't do it
Palmer won't do it for two big reasons.
First, the scrutiny of his wife's consulting contracts would be put under a microscope and could not withstand the light of day, and
Second, palmer would then have to come to work in Trenton, a place he rarely goes to currently.
Billy P III
definitely Palmer
He's basically been running for that job for 2 yrs now.
Not out-of-the-question for him to take a sub-Cabinet position in an Obama administration, his endorsement of Hillary nonwithstanding. He has a fairly high national profile with the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
Wait, the mayor of Trenton?
With all due respect for Mr. Palmer, shouldn't the Lt. Gov. be someone with a record of tangible accomplishments? Someone that maybe turned a blighted city into a respectable town?
Trenton looks like Compton, CA in the late 80's. You need Kevlar and a semi-automatic to get a sandwich at the deli on the corner of State Street.
Is this where we want to pick our second in command from?
I'm just sayin'......
