Group fundraiser still resistant to Obama candidacy

DENVER - As the New Jersey delegation burst through the double doors into the parking of the Pepsi Center, looking over the shoulders and around the bulky accouterments of any number of security personnel for a clear path to a party at Invesco Field, a small group of those formerly known as the "The Group" huddled on the pavement.

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) had just spoken and so the emotion was still palpable, and Caren Turner, who has flirted with the idea of backing Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) rather than support the Democratic Primary conqueror of her candidate, remained unconvinced that she should back Barack.

"I’ve got to think about it," said Turner. "I’d like to see what his platform is going to be to get more women into positions of government."

With Turner stood Zenon Christodoulou, vice chair of the Somerset County Democratic Party and another Group member.

"What Hillary Clinton did tonight was she reminded us of why she was such a great candidate to begin with," he said. "She was the first issue at this convention who framed the issues for our party."

Another Clinton primary supporter from New Jersey, Lori Sackler, said she was ready to fight for the general election candidacy of Obama.

"I’m aboard now after this speech of Hillary’s," Sackler said.

It's not about Hillary Clinton! Ed Rendell a GREAT governor

made the following point,
Hillary supporters after get over it and themselves and for the sake of the Democratic Party. We are here for the Democratic Party and the nominee and not Hillary!"

Gloria Borges of CNN created a long over due catharis for me when she very infantically after Hillary's speech!
"In no uncertain terms Hillary let the faithful know tonite that she is not a therapist nor is she here in Denver to serve in the role of a therapist...And she is certainly not here to create a large group and very emotional catharis about herself!"

Ed Rendell the great Governor from Pennsylvania echoed those words when he said,
""This is not about Hillary and her ideas. This is aboutr the Democratic parties values and aspirations for the future...And we will all come together for our Democratic platform."

I say, It's not about Hillary...Oh No! It's all about us and them and everywhere around the country!

Get over it

The "Group" as they r called needs 2 get over it. Obama is the nominee and will need every bit of Democratic support 2 win in November. It seems there r other reasons why certain individuals r hesitant 2 support Obama, some of which r painfuly obvious. If party officials such as Zenon Christodoulou don't support our nominee, then they should submit their resignation. It's that simple.

Addendum

to the members formally known as the group, i feel your pain because i too have suffered
through losses and massive disappointments.

I would urge Caren Z Turner and Zenon to look towards the future and what could be
and not get stuck in a past moment of being reminded of what a great presidential primary candidate that once was...if you stay stuck in that would be moment -you may never get out of it! (:

There should be some kind of private emotional catharsis crises HOT LINE # set up by Joe Cryan to help those who were once members of the group to work through their deep feelings and resolve the mourning process and all the anger and disappointment...Cryan should set up a
24/7 hour hot line number that any former member of the group can call and they will be connected to a counselor or a clinical social worker immediately!

Hillary had so many great lines last night. My favorites were:

1. NO WAY! NO HOW. NO MCCAIN.!

2. Public elected officials should not plunder the private sector for personal profit!"
