Congressional candidate Chris MyersThird Congressional District candidate Chris Myers is taking a leave of absence from his job as a vice-president at Lockheed Martin through the remainder of the campaign season.
The Republican will now be a full-time candidate through Nov. 4th, according to a news release issued by his campaign on Wednesday.
"Anyone who knows me, knows that I have never been one to do things half-way, and this campaign will be no different," said Myers. "The residents of this district deserve nothing less from someone seeking to earn their support, their trust and their vote for Congress."
Myers is running against state Sen. John Adler (D-Camden) for a seat being vacated by veteran U.S. Rep. Jim Saxton (D-3).

take a stand, save the job
Perhaps Myers will actually be able to read up and take some positions on issues (stem cells, SCHIP, withdrawal deadlines in Iraq –Myers has waffled in his “position” on these important issues) during time off from his job. Some friendly advice for Myers: Leave your window open for returning to the Lockheed position come November.
Pressure
Myers’ recent "leave of absence" from Lockheed to campaign full-time may be due to the pressure amounting on him from the monster campaign John Adler is running. The Democrats have a beast of a campaign growing day-by-day, financially and popularity wise. Myers most likely realized his campaign is so under funded compared to Adler’s, and sitting behind a desk and making $300,000 isn’t enough to win you a seat in Congress. So kudos to you Chris Myers, you finally realized what it takes to campaign for Congress. Let’s see how well it works for ya.
