Andrews says he'll consider primary challenge against Lautenberg

U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews' spokesman Bill Caruso issued the following statement today after the congressman did not appear at the Trenton Marriot in support of U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg:

"Over the last few days, Congressman Andrews has been approached by many leaders of the Democratic Party who have urged him to step forward and run for the Senate because they think that 2008 is a year where voters are seeking a change in government. Because he respects the judgment of these leaders, he is carefully considering how to best to serve New Jersey and the country."

Corzine & Menendez

If Corzine and Menendez line-up strong support for Frank, then I don't know if Andrews has a chance.

But if they just endorse Frank, but don't do any heavy-lifting for him, Andrews could make it interesting.

I don't know if Corzine and Menendez are willing to go to war for Frank Lautenberg.

Andrews Would Be A Horrible Senator!

He is disliked in his district now and needs to find another path to follow as his local bridges appear to have been burned.

To Anyone Reading This:

If you're reading this, click back on the front page for politickernj and see this article attached to an Andrews photo. Not coincidentally, the photo has Andrews next to a cadaver.
