Governor-elect Christopher Christie today announced a ten-person transition leadership team that includes legislators from both parties.  Former Attorney General David Samson had previously been designated as chairman of the transition panel.

The transition team includes: State Sens. Joseph Kyrillos (R-Middletown) and Sandra Bolden Cunningham (D-Jersey City),  Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore, Christie campaign strategist Michael DuHaime, Woodbridge Mayor and former State Treasurer John McCormac, Montclair State University President Susan Cole, Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce President Debra DiLorenzo, former New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority Chairman Jon Hanson, and former PSE&G President Alfred Koeppe,

McCormac, a Democrat, did not endorse Christie during his campaign to unseat incumbent Jon Corzine, but did not actively campaign for Corzine.

“There is no doubt we have our work cut out for us, but I am confident that the team we have put together to lead my transition will set the tone for the rest of the Christie Administration,” Christie said in a statement released today.

Samson praised the transition team’s talent and bi-partisanship.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are ready to help execute Chris’ vision for changing the way our government does business,” Samson said.

I Wish the New Governor the Best of Luck

I really hope he gets in there and throws the bums out! It's time to clean house. Send 'em all packing, wherever they've burrowed in and nested.

Um, how can I put this gently?

You're not exactly cleaning house, sending anyone packing, or throwing the bums out with Lady One and McCormac.

McCormac was the treasurer who hatched the scheme to borrow against the tobacco settlement and sold his office to Robert Feldman for Yankees tickets.

In fact, it is precisely to the contrary.

is this a joke?

Susan Cole? Known on campus as "Kaiser Cole"? That Susan Cole? The same Susan Cole that rushed to build as many buildings as possible, while letting every other building on the campus crumble? The same lady who has effectively forced hundreds of students to come to campus 1-2 hours early because of the parking situation?

...Christie better know what he's doing, because this lady is an absolute waste of space.

u have to be kidding

mccormac was the creator of the $128 m in slush funds that allowed bryant to prosper

he was also knee deep in encap

republican senate continued to attack swaps and placement agents which were mccormac creation

DiLorenzo, a good choice

Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce President Debra DiLorenzo is an excellent choice on the transition team to represent the interests of those in the private sector who want a sound economy, efficient government and a reasonable and workable tax structure. We have a regulatory system that is broken, an economic climate that is not conducive to the creation of private sector jobs and political parties that view everything in terms of sound bites. There is a lot of work to do.

Is Christie an environmentalist?

He must be because he loves to recycle.  We are already doomed and he hasn't even been sworn in yet.

I can see the Booker for Governor '13 ads now.  It will be Christie's famous quote saying, "If things don't get better in 4 years, I won't run for reelection."  It will then be followed by a deep voice saying, "Things haven't gotten better, its time for a change."

Reminds me of another guy who said something like, "Hold me accountable."

It won't be the Ledger that digs into this transition

Johnny Mac and CC are both in up to their necks with them. Record, Inkie or Gannett... where are you?

Lady One

"...I am confident that the team we have put together to lead my transition will set the tone for the rest of the Christie Administration,”

With team members like Sandy, that tone must be "me me me mine mine mine sorry, did i step on your face while clawing my way to the top of the dung heap"

You know, there ARE democrats who actually care about NJ.

Say it ain't so Chris

I know you and Glenn were friends but putting Sandra on your team only betrays what you say. She has a convicted rapist working for her and her use of Foundation funds is questionable. Loyalty to friends is one thing but this is insanity.
