Poll: Daggett could do better with voters who are tired of the major parties

Independent gubernatorial candidate Christopher Daggett has not fully capitalized on anti-major party sentiment, new data released today by the Rutgers-Eagleton poll reveals.

The poll found that almost 70% of New Jersey voters were open to a strong alternative to the Republican and Democratic Parties.  Thirty-seven percent said they would prefer more than two important parties, while 32% said that candidates should not run with party labels at all.  But Daggett only gets the support of 20% of likely voters.

“It is striking how many New Jersey voters say they want an alterative, yet how unwilling they are to vote for that alternative when available. And of course, there are widely varying views on what the alternative should be, much as in the health care debate,” said poll director David Redlawsk.

Among voters who say New Jersey needs more than two strong parties, only 25% support Daggett, while 20% of those who say candidates should run without party labels back him.

“Even though Daggett is running a credible campaign, he is failing to attract most disaffected voters,” said Redlawsk.  “Much of this is because many voters still know little about Daggett, but the numbers also are driven by history: independents don’t win in New Jersey and voters know that.”

The Rutgers-Eagleton poll surveyed 583 likely voters between October 15 and 20 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1%.

Daggett is NOT an alternative

"It is striking how many New Jersey voters say they want an alterative, yet how unwilling they are to vote for that alternative when available."

That's because Daggett is just another liberal. He is NOT an alternative.

Lonegan Voters

Over 140,000 Republican Primary voters supported Lonegan and many of them will now be supporting Daggett.

Christie made a mess of all of this by refusing to even acknowledge Lonegan or his people. He "big timed "them and treated them like political lepers.

They will now return the favor.

Even at this late date the arrogant Christie will not stand with the standard bearer of Conservatism,Steve Lonegan.

140,000 Republican primary voters going astray...........

South Jersey Lonegan voters for Daggett

Daggett wil do very well in "Lonegan country".

Chrisite has ignored Lonegan and his supporters and does not deserve any help.

Daggett will get more votes in South Jersey then Chrisite.

Lonegan will be around on Novemebr 4th to pick up the pieces of the destroyed republican party.

A vote for Corzine or Chris Christie is a vote for corruption

A vote for Corzine or Chris Christie is a vote for corruption

PolitickerNJ Predicts Chris Daggett will surge in the polls win election because voters are fed up

Corzine and Christie are not the real problem.

It is the broken corrupt two-party system. It needs to go.

A vote for Corzine or Christie is a Vote for Corruption

A vote for Corzine or Christie is a Vote the corrupt two party system that got us in the is mess.

A vote for Corzine or Christie is condoning the corruption and scandal over the last 20 years that has made NJ the worst business and tax climate in the country.

Jon Corzine and Christie Christie both are representatives of the political parties that have used corruption and scandal over the last 20 years to get our state into the mess that it is.

As long as voters continue to vote for either party they are condoning the behavior of these political parties.

Political parties are a national affiliation. Not just local, county or statewide but national. If these parties cared for anything besides making their constituents rich off of the taxpayers dime, they would clean their act up.

But the political parties don’t make their politicians clean their act up. Why, because like sheep we keep voting for them. Year after year, election after election. Because we do not have the courage to stand up for ourselves and vote for a third party they have us enslaved.

They are right when they say we have no alternative. We are forced to choose between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich year after year.

I can go on and on about both Chris Christie and Jon Corzine.

Only voters have the power to change the government. We must refuse to be held captive to the broken two-party system that has brought scandal and corruption and keeps us captive by instilling fear of voting for a third party. Its time to send a message across the country. Its time to end politics as usual.
