Daggett drops car off with loaded gun inside

In what The Star-Ledger’s Josh Margolin called “another bizarre turn in an already crazy gubernatorial campaign,” independent gubernatorial candidate Christopher Daggett dropped a loaner car off at a dealership with a loaded gun left inside.

The gun belonged to Daggett’s driver, Ken Argirowho, a retired state trooper who had been taking Daggett around in a loaner car while Daggett’s own car was being serviced.

Daggett told the Ledger that the dealer called “and immediately we took care of it.”

One set of rules for Daggett

Daggett refuses lawbyding citizens a right that 75 % of American already have. The right to carry. The right to self protection while travelling. But has that right with Corzine just for himself. This elitist hypocrite who wants to flood NJ with illegals is a SHAM Candidate.

law abiding citizen

i'm all about law abiding citizens owning guns, but here's just one example of a (presumably) law abiding citizen (retired trooper) who has been careless with their weapon. I don't think by any means that the trooper left the gun in the car on purpose, but what would have happened if a kid were to have found the gun and shot himself or someone else?

Hypocrites

What a moron, who does that? Forget their weapon? They should have their right to carry revoked if they cant keep track of the gun. Its funny how politicians are anti gun walk around with guys with guns...wheres my f'ing right to carry here in NJ?

Although this is a bad thing

Although this is a bad thing to do, should it really get this much publicity? So far, Daggett is the only candidate who has talked about the true issues of our state. He is by far the best candidate. Why are we making such a big deal about this? The fact that his driver left a gun in a loaner vehicle does not reflect on how well Daggett can govern. I don't know about everyone else, but this is not going to affect my vote. Go Daggett!

What right to carry?

Daggert had no right to carry but according to the law, he did carry. According to the law it is illegal possession of a loaded hand gun. No action taken by police is evidence that "some are more equal than others" (Animal Farm).

As for the driver who has the right to carry, gw did commit a crime and it did involve a loaded firearm. Charges should be: Reckless endangerment and illegal sale or transfer of a firearm with out a license.

Both driver and Daggett committed felonies and got "Get Out of Jail Free" cards in the game of Policopoly.

For the record I believe that the NJ Gun Laws are UNCONSTITUTIONAL!! There are a lot of people in jail for what Tweetledee and Tweetledum have done.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy in the laws of New Jersey.

Perfect Example

Great job, way to go, everyone should be allowed to carry guns to anyplace at anytime just a fantastic story

Unsafe and Disqualified

Every firearm is loaded. To leave a firearm in a vehicle and risk tragedy is very disturbing. The candidate and his bodyguard are negligent and deserve a rebuke. Anyone really considering Daggett should pay attention this story. He cannot be trusted.

More Daggett Bias

There is no way this article is a top read story. Other sites don't even have this story on their radar.

Just like the poll. Its BS. That stat's stayed exactly the same. Its rigged.

I have am starting to lose all faith in this site as a fair and balanced source of news. Just about everything I have read has a clear anti Daggett bias.

If I wanted to get my news from a GOP mouthpiece I would go over to Fox.
