District 1 debate set for October 14

Candidates in the state’s most hotly competitive legislative district will participate in a radio debate next month.

District 1 Democratic Assemblymen Matt Milam (D-Vineland) and Nelson Albano (D-Vineland) will debate Republican challengers Michael Donohue and John McCann at 7pm on Wednesday, October 14 at the Old Historic Court House Building in Cape May Court House.

The event is organized by the League of Women Voters and will air live on WCZT 98.7 FM.

Republicans view 1st District – where Albano and Milam won on the coattails of state Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-Dennis) in 2007 --  as their best pickup opportunity in the state.

Political junkies out of the station’s range can listen to the debate here.

Albano and Milam are proven

The 1st district really can't afford to be sending two light weights like McCann and Donohue to Trenton. This team of Milam and Albano, with Van Drew in the Senate has really worked well for this District. The District would be taking a step back if these two republicans went to Trenton.

Republican "B" Team

Two citizen legislators with working class roots and Van Drew's work ethic will not be defeated by GOP second stringers.Albano and Milam return to Trenton to continue the work for the taxpayers of the First district.
