Former Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joe Ferriero has no plans to follow his co-defendant’s lead and plead guilty to corruption charges, according to his attorney, Joseph Hayden.

“Joe Ferriero asked for a speedy trial and wants to go forward,” said Hayden.

Hayden would not say whether the Oury indictment would change anything about the way he will proceed in defending Ferriero.

“I decline to speculate as to how it will affect the dynamics of the trial, and I’ll probably address it in my opening statement,” he said.

Ferriero’s trial is set to begin on Thursday.  He is charged with concealing an interest in a grant writing firm and using his political clout to steer government grants to the firm’s clients.

Oury Pled Guilty to everything: Where does Hayden go

from here and at trial on Thursday? Ferriero is not pleading guilty, according to himself, but Oury just gave up the entire ship before the judge in federal court, and he knows he is facing 20 years and cannot appeal. Oury admits that he and Ferriero are both guilty.

Hayden says he doesn't know if Oury's guilty plea will change how he proceeds at trial on Thursday.

I imagine he made that statement in a state of abject shock and utter disbelief.

Every Man for Himself

on a sinking ship. Is there no honor amoung theives.

Honor

The only way the Feds would give Oury a plea deal is if he LIED and said Ferriero was in on it. The judge asked specifically about Ferriero. Oury probably thougt "Hey one missed Christmas is better than 20". His family should be proud.

ferriero going to jail

boy is he screwed!

Lifeboat Ethics

Forget women and children first, it's every man for themself.

Why would he plead guilty to curruption charges?

Oury may have been charge with Corruption charges and plead guilty to it. But from what I have red Joe wasn't charged with that so why should he plead guilty?

Ferriero Supporters Make Me Sick

You people must be kidding me. All the time we fought like hell to get Boss Joe the hell out of the BCDO all you could say was he's a good man and he ain't done nothing wrong.

Now your reduced to saying well, he ain't done nothing illegal. You must be kidding me.

So if you owe your job, or your "Political Life" to Joe, know this, WE'RE COMING FOR YOU NEXT!
