Republican gubernatorial Chris Christie today touted the support of three members of the opposition party.

Christie announced the support of Perth Amboy Councilman Ken Balut, who had considered running a primary against Gov. Jon Corzine and already indicated that he would support Christie;  Former Union County Freeholder  Donald Goncalves; and Elizabeth Board of Education member Tony Monteiro, who is also a Union County Democratic committeeman.

"I am a devoted Democrat but I am disappointed in Corzine's record and the direction that his campaign is headed," said Monteiro.  "With unemployment on the rise, Corzine's high taxes, and businesses leaving every day, we need serious leadership, not the same old attacks that we have heard time and again."

Christie also has the support of Democratic Garfield Councilwoman Tana Raymond.

Jon Corzine Steadily Fed The Beast That

Eventually Devoured Him.

And Now He is On a Payback Mission to Take All the Dem's Down as He Enthusiastically Touts "without any doubt" His Support and Admiration for Chris Christie's Corruption Busting Administration.

NJ pols were so greedy and reckless on their own behalf and major interests that they took his cash and didn't fully explore if he had what it takes to be a top flight, competent and effective NJ governor.

Say whatever you want about Chris Christie: he lead a massive department and budget...prosecuted and won every single case that he brought forth.

May he be ever so effective as our next governor -chief executive and the steady protector of the people and not just a relatively select and connected few who are only out for their own self interest and abusing their power while they charge by the hour...

It Makes You Wonder Exactly Why Henry Paulson Forced Him Out of Goldman Sacks. That's what the Wall Street Journal and countless other publications made abundantly clear.

Apparently, We made a terrible investment and got a next to nothing return on our hard won and honestly earned tax payer dollars $.

The heat is on and the new old dog days of summer are showcasing another Soprano like drama and the crooks are back on the front page again.

Didn't Governor Jim McGreevey resign in the summer of 2004 and all because he was a closeted gay American! He had the unmitigated audacity and not even a hint of veracity as he shamelessly spinned his resignation while standing next to his utterly devestated -father and mother and before the people of New Jersey but he could not play us for fools.

Chris Christie will see to it that we don't get fooled again and played by all the old familiar and predictable characters who are driving -this state into the NJ Inferno: a dark and endless hole.

Power corrupts

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Be careful what you wish for...

Who??

I have to say couple of things...

Who??? No one has ever heard of these people beyond their little local sinkholes.

 and

If a tree falls in the woods....

Anyone surprised?

Does it really come as a surprise to anyone that Chris Christie is supported by Democrats? The only thing that should have surprised anyone is that Christie decided to run as a Republican and didn't instead seek the nomination of the Democrat party. It certainly would have made more sense.

Shale Hills

Does the term "Reagan Democrat" ring a bell?

Republicans

These guys are all Republicans. Nice try though.

Democrats for Christie

Christie will get a large portion of Democratic support and Democratic officeholders once it becomes apparent Corzine is toast. Vote Column "A" - All the way!

"The only thing that should

"The only thing that should have surprised anyone is that Christie decided to run as a Republican and didn't instead seek the nomination of the Democrat party."

He tried that once before. In 1994 he considered the possibility of running for John Dorsey's State Senate seat as a Democrat. Instead the Dems endorsed Gordon MacInnes who beat Dorsey in the general election.

The "Gonif State" makes the "Soprano State" look like the "Brady Bunch"

He won lots of cases, So what?

Giantfan, you posted that Christie: "prosecuted and won every single case that he brought forth." Yeah, so? Prosecutor stats are the least relative of any I can think of. A decision to take a case to trial is made with full knowledge of the strength of the case and the odds of either settling or winning. When he releases a list of all the investigations that went nowhere (along with their costs) or that were nipped early on or avoided, then we can be impressed. But as we all know, that can, and will, never happen for him, or any other "crime bustin'" prosecutor. Just the nature of the beast.

Fish in a Barrel

One other thing. Since NJ is such a swampland of corruption, isn't it fair to say that picking them off in stings is akin to shooting fish in a barrel? Where's the skill in that?

joking right?

The man with no plan, picks up d's without a clue!
Monteiro has run as a republican, and has been "out" for a decade!
Maybe these guys can teach him to add which he has trouble with!
Anti-establishment guys, no real surprise or loss.for corzine.

Why should he get specific?

The Corzine campaign is dieing and the reason why they want him (Chistie) to get more specific on the economy is because that way, it becomes easier to find a way to attack him. Brendan Byrne said just last week that the worst thing Christie could do is get specific at this stage. He's beating Corzine very badly in the polls as it is--by NOT getting too specific--and Stuart Rothenberg is already writing about the possibility that Christie will not only win this race in November but that there will be a downballot effect, with Christie having coattails in the state assembly and local races.

To put it bluntly, Chrisite is crushing Corzine right now. He has no need to get specific.

When the time is right for Christie to get more specific

he will. And certainly not before...
Christie will bring a very tenacious, highly disciplned, ethical and mehodical single focus work ethic to the governors office where he will execute his plans, visions and goals for NJ...Christie is definitely not: indecisive or flaky: and he knows which way the wind blows and shouts it out. This is not a man who minces words.

Which Assembly Democrat endorses Chris first?

Any bets?

We don't need Hippocratic Democrat's

We don't need Hippocratic Democrat's , Next time they run for office they won't be on my ticket I am so tired how everyone who is complaining. We are in a recession for god sake, we have little help from the Federal government . No state no governor is cutting tax's. Corzine is fighting to keep all the programs the lower income family's need and education funded , Like it or not he is doing his best... Sorry he can't make everyone happy. I am looking at the silver lining. And Christie is not the silver lining. Have any of you look into the other governor's in other states and the cuts they made, I mean look at Christie's own party , they are hurting just as bad and they are not making any tax cuts, they are making big cuts. I will admit I am a democrat and proud of it. I will not vote for Christie , he is full of hot air and he has no answer's to how he will cut our tax's.The fact is he has no idea how to fix our economy and he has no answer's for New Jersey. I will not take a chance with a Republican when I have seen what they have done to this country. And why we are where we are now. Chris Christie for tax cuts I highly doubt it.

Democrats For Christie

I'm just one of thousands who are supporting the republican for governor, enough of corzines failed polices and taxing everything

why Goncalves is backing Christie -it's personal

Elizabeth schools are under state scrutiny
Posted by Josh Margolin May 29, 2008 10:03PM

excerpts:

"The Corzine administration sent a team of inspectors to the Elizabeth school district this week after state auditors said they had found evidence of far-reaching spending abuses,..."¶

....""We're under the firm belief that our school district does very well from a financial and governance perspective," said district spokesman Donald Goncalves."¶

Elizabeth Schools / Lesniak

The only tax dollars in Elizabeth Lesniak/ Mayor Bollwage DON'T control. Monteiro and others are the ONLY group in Union County to defeat the Lesniak machine in any Elections in the last 20 years.Former Freeholder Donald Goncalves is a business man in the community and is well known . Any one with political brains would figure out these 2 men will help Christie siphon votes in the LARGE hispanic areas of Elizabeth, a city Corzine probably won 70-30 last time. Christie gets 40% + plus in dem city like Elizabeth, Corzine is toast.........

Decade Old Democrats - It's up to NJ Voters to vote them out.

People are tired of the Decade Old Democrats that have served forever in office. Any Political Party that has had Decades and has run the state into the ground should be ousted. Camden County for one should be on the radar. It is the poorest city in the country. Red Flag. Unemployment rate is up to it's highest. Red Flag and the biggest Mob Boss in the state who gives the orders, just happens to live in Camden Country. Another RED Flag. Last week he ordered the Governor to step down and said Cory Booker would take his place. If that's not a Red Flag, what is? Take his people out and you flatten him.

[Christie] prosecuted and

[Christie] prosecuted and won every single case that he brought forth.

This is not credible if Christie ran his office in a legitimate fashion. He set up some small timers and left all the major corruption because it would affect his political future. One more reason why I would never voter for this phony.

Christie Is An Empty Suit Full Of Hot Air

The hot air balloon looks big now...but will be deflated.

He's a Bernie Madoff pol balloon doll, soon to be pricked.

If the election was next week you might get away with the bullshit con job....but there's three months left.

Lies don't hold water that long.

Christie loses if he keeps his mouth shut...and he loses worse if he exposes his true agendas.

:-)

nobodys

nobody knows 'em. From the headline you would have thought he got Brendan Byrne or something.

Lento the moron.

You sad delusional liberal. Corzine is going to get crushed and you don't even know it... LOL Vote Column "A" - All the way!
