HOLMDEL -- If Governor Corzine’s choice for lieutenant governor comes down to state Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Teaneck) and technology consultant/reality TV star Randal Pinkett, Newark Mayor Cory Booker is happy either way.
Still, he gives a slight preference to Weinberg
“I’m still a big fan of Loretta Weinberg. She’s tremendous and great. But you have to understand, Randal was a co-chairman of my transition, he’s been a friend of mine for years, and I just know the greatness of him – he’s an extraordinary young man,” said Booker.
Booker recently tweeted, however, that he thinks Corzine will pick Pinkett, although he stressed he had no inside information.
“It’s just a gut instinct,” he said. “I really, really pray that the Governor gives a long look at Loretta, but I think the reality is that Randal has a lot of things to attract the governor to him.”
