Salem GOP Chairman to step down

Salem County Republican Chairman Paul Reed will step down tomorrow night after serving three years as head of the GOP in New Jersey's least populous county.
“I’ve got eight grandkids. It takes so much time, and it’s not a paying job,” he said, adding that he will stay involved. “I will stick around. I’m not disappearing.”
Reed said that former Freeholder Mike Facemyer is running to replace him, so far unopposed.
The mild-mannered Reed presided over a party that bucked the trend of Democratic gains last year, winning one freeholder seat. Although the freeholder board has five Democrats to two Republicans, Republicans hold two out of three constitutional offices.
