Tom Russo to retire from Atlantic County freeholder board
By Matt Friedman, PolitickerNJ.com ReporterAtlantic County Freeholder Tom Russo announced today that he will not seek reelection to a seventh term.
Russo, a Republican and former president of the Atlantic City Council, has been on the freeholder board since 1991.
“I am proud to have been a part of the finest run county government in the State of New Jersey,” said Russo in a statement. “Now is the time for new leadership to join the Freeholder Board to meet the challenges which lie ahead.”
Atlantic County Republicans will nominate their preferred replacement for Russo at their convention this spring.
