Cryan on Lance: 'Independent my ass!'

CRANFORD -- Democratic State Chairman Joe Cryan took the stage today at Union County College not just to tout Linda Stender as a hard working public servant who always “does the right thing,” but to Pummel her opponent’s reputation as a moderate independent.

“Some people say to me the other guy’s nice, or he’s ok, or what’s unfathomable to me: that he’s independent,” he said.

Cryan spoke favorably of Stender's background, including her global warming bill and work as a freeholder preserve open space. Then he challenged the audience to name one thing Lance had accomplished in his legislative career.

“What a way to get a room quiet -- just ask what Leonard Lance has accomplished,” he said. “He’s not independent. He’s as partisan as they come. Independent my ass!”

Cryan's ass

Apparently, Jim McGreevey was in the audience, and Joe Cryan was making a romantic overture.

Will NJ-7 voters side with the 25% Bush/Cheney approvers?

With the vast majority of Lance’s support coming from the 25% of voters that still approve of Bush/Cheney and supporters of Mike Ferguson, a Tom Delay clone, can undecided NJ-7 voters expect Lance to be a “stay-the-course” Congressmen? Supported by ads of Freedom Watch, financed with carpetbagger money from Las Vegas and personal fund raising by Bush, how can Lance be trusted to be any different than Ferguson? America’s other deficit: Leadership can only be addressed with common senses governing, the remedy to Bush’s absurdities.

Lance, McCain and Others ARE NOT BUSH

Yes, they are all Republicans, and Bush is a Republican that tries to support candidates from within the party. BUT, that does not mean that they agree down the line with all policies. That is an absurd extension of logic. Should we think that all Democrats agree with Rev. Al because he supported democratic candidates ... be real people...
Party leaders help candidates in tight races regardless of agreement on individual policies. Come on people, let us at least be honest when we make these types of comments, otherwise you are just repeating talking points. From your comments "Dotconnector" you sound like you work from the Democratic campaign, and you are just repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating, all in the hopes that these talking points will actually be believed by people that do not think below the surface.
