State Sen. Jennifer Beck acknowledged meeting with U.S. Attorney Chris Christie over the summer, but denied that they talked about the upcoming gubernatorial race or anything else political.
PolitickerNJ’s inside edge reported last week that the two discussed the prospect of Beck as Christie’s running mate for Lieutenant Governor.
“I talk to him fairly regularly and get together with him once in a while, and obviously we don’t have any conversations about political stuff. It’s about Marlboro and Monmouth County and what’s going on there,” she said.
Beck (R-Red Bank) said that she’s been friends with Christie for 15 years, back whens she was a staffer for Assemblyman Joseph Azzolina and he was a Morris County Freeholder.
“I’ve met with him before too. It’s not unusual. I’ve known him for an awful long time, and he’s a friend,” she said.

Beck talked gubernatorial politics with Christie
The Inside Edge strongly stands behind our original report that Senator Beck discussed the 2009 gubernatorial campaign with the U.S. Attorney, including a discussion of the Lt. Governor position -- unless, of course, Beck exaggerated the conversation with the multitude of people she spoke with afterward. It's understandable that she would deny this conversation -- confirmation would put the federal prosecutor in a tough position.
Beck is a liar
So Beck's statement is that she met with Christie and they did not talk about politics. Right, that's believable.
Who cares?
Let him run. Let her run. Let everybody run. The process of natural selection will breed the strongest candidate.
Was Dick Zimmer
the strongest candidate? Absolutely not! Come on now mountaintop, you know the country club "leaders" of our party are going to do everything they can to force CC upon us like they did with everyone but Jersey Joe.
Think about it.
If Chris was going to be a serious candidate for Governor, would he really consider a Lt. Gov who amplifies his status as a one issue candidate and who shares his support for new gun control laws, illegal immigration, abortion up to and including the day of delivery and who knows how many other liberal positions? Of course not. He's the Sonny Liston of 2008. He might eventually get in the ring, but he won't have the nerve to fight.
So lady Beck is nothing if not discreet
So I guess she's...nothing! Oh well, does this surprise you? If I were Christie I would let all these folks go and do a Mccain and pick somebody outside of the mainstream of politics!!! r or d, lots of losers on both sides of the aisle.
"Stuff"
Maybe they are talking ex-husband stuff, married boyfriend stuff, coke-addled BFF stuff. The kind of stuff a candidate might want to know about a potential running mate stuff.
Why do a background check?
If Democrats can get Homeland Security Director Cipel, Superintendent Santiago, and Attorney Generals Harvey and Farber then Christie can have his choice. Democrats have made sure the bar is set really really really low in this state.
Jennifer Beck
If my girl and the hottest babe in Trenton says that she and Chris Christie didn't talk politics, then I believe her.
I would love to see Sen. Beck as a candidate for Lt. Governor. For what it's worth, I would also love to talk to her over some pasta fagioli and a bottle of chianti one of these nights as well!;-)

Charlemagne's got the Wrong Stuff
Nice below the belt hits there, Charlatan. I guess the Ellen Karcher camp is still extremely bitter about her loss and has a good deal of down time to wallow in and sling mud. Love to hear your views on Governor Palin, too. Equally hateful and caddy I am sure. Your comments are disgraceful to say the least. Go back to licking your wounds you disgruntled malcontent.
