BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- To hear Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce tell it, Legislative District 14 will be a major battleground in next year’s assembly races.
That’s where State Sen. Bill Baroni (R-Hamilton) heads a district with two Democrats lower down in the Assembly, eight year veteran Linda Greenstein (D-Plainsboro) and the newly elected Wayne DeAngelo (D-Hamilton).
DeAngelo, beause he’s been in office less than a year, is the obvious target. But DeCroce, who wasn’t specific about who he’d like to recruit to run, said he’s gunning for Greenstein as well.
“Linda’s a nice lady, but I think her voting record leaves something to be desired, frankly, and I think it’s time for a change,” he said. “Obviously Linda would be the tougher one, being a lady too and a nice person. It’s not easy, but you have to show there’s a difference between the candidates and the incumbent, and the issues are going to be on our side.”
DeCroce also said he planned to take back some seats in districts that used to favor Republicans but have recently been swept by Democrats, like the 1st. Optimistically, he also said he’d like to make a play for the 3rd, 4th and 7th Districts.
“There are seats that belong in our column, not in the Democratic column. We think 14 should be in our column, and 36 and 38 are areas we can regain.”

The only thing DeCroce cares about is making Joe Roberts' life as easy as possible.
He couldn't even stand up for McHose when Roberts' guy called her an idiot.
Republicans can win the Assembly next year, but only if someone else steps up to the plate to fund these campaigns and help the candidates. DeCroce is in Roberts' pocket. He isn't going to do anything to piss the Speaker off.
The best advice prospective Assembly candidates can follow is to raise as much money on their own as early as possible, don't count on the Assembly Republicans for anything and do the opposite of anything DeCroce, Rick Wright or anyone who works for them suggests.
Naturally, GOP prospects will be much better if our gubernatorial nominee is someone with a strong record of fighting for taxpayers rather than a one-issue candidate with liberal views on nearly every single policy question.
DeCroce is a joke
You can't have a leader who stands in the back of the line.
DeCroce has no clue how to win a competitive race and his non-support of Assembly candidate in 36 proved that!
If the GOP wants to win, they need a leader with a plan and a pair of balls!
Vote Column A - All the way!
Come on Down to the 1st Alex!
DeCroce tried to come down to the 1st District last year and he was ignored. Milam and Albano and the Democrats are well funded and ready to battle anyone who is trying to put that seat on the Republican side.
DeCroce will be embarrassed again if he gets involved down here.
Why wait for next year?
There is an opening in the 20th this year. It is the result of juicy scandal and has a straw woman Dem candidate. Let us see the muscle.
