Cid Wilson leaning towards District 37 Assembly bid

DENVER -- Former Assembly candidate Cid Wilson, who ran and aborted a primary campaign against District 37 Assembly members Gordon Johnson and Valerie Vainieri-Huttle, said today that he may run again.

“The answer is that I’m exploring all my options, and I very much believe that regardless of what I decide to do, I’m going to be an active leader in Bergen County, because I’ve always cared about the issues affecting Bergen County,” he said.  “I’m giving it a very strong look, and I am leaning towards running.”

Wilson, a delegate, was at Mile High Stadium tonight.  But he was happy to answer questions about local issues, even while surrounded by the nation’s top politicos.

Last year, Wilson, a Wall Street financial analyst, was backed by the of the Bergen County Democratic Organization, which has had a long running feud with the Real Bergen Democrats, which are backed by State Sen. Loretta Weinberg.

Now, with the FBI investigating into Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joe Ferriero’s business dealings, Weinberg could gain an advantage in Bergen.  Wilson, however, doesn’t think that outside matters will affect the prospective race. 

“I think people in the district are going to be most concerned about the issues affecting them, in particular taxes. I think whoever can help provide a solution to the exploding property taxes that we’re paying is going to overshadow everything that’s within the Party.”
