Amidst the shockwaves that hit the political community last night over the revelation that Assemblyman Neil Cohen (D-Union) is under investigation for possession of child pornography, four legislative leaders from both sides of the aisle have requested that the Office of Legislative Services begin installing the “most aggressive” possible internet filtering software on all of the legislature’s computers.
A joint statement by Senate President Dick Codey, Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts, Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr. and Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce said that this morning they directed the Office of Legislative Services to “immediately pursue installing the most aggressive Internet filtering software available on all computers in the Legislature.”
Office of Legislative Services Executive Director Albert Porroni earlier today said that access to pornographic Web sites is not currently blocked on legislative computers and pledged to address the issue.
“We recognize that individuals intent on breaking the law and abusing public resources will still seek ways to do so,” continued the Codey/Roberts, Kean/deCroce statement. “But this action is aimed at doing everything we can to prevent something of this nature from happening in the future.”

W O W!!!!! Finally, an admission!
What a day in New Jersey politics! The democratic leaders of both houses call for the placement of filtering software on all legislative computers. This is tantamount to saying, "we're all a bunch of perverts, and we can't be trusted to control ourselves at work'! My GOD, have they no shame!
Can someone introduce a bill to get these poor men and women in the legislature some counselling, shock therapy, whatever it takes. 10 cent increase in tolls should pay for it!
My God, maybe we really DON'T want to know whats in those e-mails between Katz and Corzine!
I can't take it anymore!
W O W!!!!! Finally, an admission!!!
Correction:
Should
The democratic "and republican" leaders of both houses. . .
Waste of Money
In other words, "We know we AREN'T ethical so we need outside help to stop us from BEING unethical." At least where the public won't turn another blind eye, and child pornograph certainly fits the bill. How pathetic.
Filtering Software
Is this the stuff that filters out such words as "Middlesex" and "Dick Codey"?
How about. . .
How about finding better legislators instead of having to filter their computers so they commit their disgusting, dangerous and deviant actions at home.
"I figure people drift toward liberalism at a young age, and I always hope that they change when they see how the world really is.”

Self Discipline
What are they, little kids?
If I was a legislator I would be embarrassed to have my leadership state that I need a block on my computer.
Where has personal responsiblity and self discipline gone?
One low life Legislator gets caught and now everyone needs computer blocks?
The " block " that is needed is to throw the book at low life Cohen if he is guilty.
I am sick of reading about non-issues with these people.
I want Sharpe James put away forever! I want Cohen in jail, not in some cushy hospital ! I want the leaders in this State to abide by the law or be punished severely.
Keep those computers completely opened and then every six months inspect them and make public if there is any wrongdoing.
Blocks are Bull !
This is a waste of taxpayer
This is a waste of taxpayer dollars.
Edit: To elaborate, this state is already spending too much money indulging this Democratic legislature's every whim, and we should not spend more money simply to hide their bad behavior.
