Greenwald definitely not interested in Andrews's congressional seat

Assemblyman  Lou Greenwald today confirmed that he will not replace Rep. Rob Andrews in the 1st congressional district, where Andrews’s wife, Camille, is running as a placeholder candidate.”

Greenwald said that it was too important a time in his children’s lives to spend so much time away from them.

“I have right now for my family.  Right now with three young children it would be very difficult for me to disrupt their lives,” he said.   “I’m honored that people have considered me for it, and it’s something that I would certainly consider it in the future… I have a ten year old and seven year old twins.  I can’t see moving them to Washington or taking their father away from them on a daily basis like that.”

Besides, Greenwald is busy with his "job" at Remington & Vernick.

Children should come first

Lou Greenwald would be sorely missed if he went to DC. Both in the State House and at home. Glad to see his priorities, namely family, are in order. His time for DC or higher State office will surely come. A fiscally conservative Democrat, he's among the better politicians in our state. And I say this as a Republican.

Fiscally Conservative -- Are You Kidding??

StealthOP: Greenwald is "fiscally conservative?" Are you joking? Let's review the past 8 years while he's been at the helm of the budget committee, working WITH those other great fiscal conservatives, McGreevey, Codey and Corzine: a plethora of taxes and fees increased, spending way up, debt increased, pay-to-play, cronyism, wasteful spending items, Christmas tree spending, partisan local grants, shell games and gimmicks with the budget, middle-of-the night deals, government shutdown, moving spending off-budget or into another fiscal year, etc. etc. If this is fiscally conservative, (a) what would a fiscal moderate or liberal be doing and (b) give me some of what you're smokin!!! Get real!
